Militha, meaning ‘inclusion, was initiated in 2004 with the overall goal of getting equal status for the disabled in family and society. The purpose is to form a sustainable federation of sanghas of people with disabilities in order to advocate and lobby for their rights.

The aim of this initiative is to see that people with disabilities (PWD) are well-integrated into society, are a part of all activities and lead an independent, fulfilling life.

Militha works towards this by organising sanghas to discuss the problems of the disabled and their solutions, identifying resources available within the community, making them available to the disabled, and training the disabled to bring change in their own lives.
