Annapurna is a noted researcher, development activist, and fabric expert with interests in handloom weaving, sustainable agriculture, development policy and market-oriented methods to sustain traditional arts and crafts. She is currently pursuing Post-Doctoral research at Maastricht University after obtaining a Phd for her study on developing a theory of innovation for handloom weaving in India. She is an awardee of the Global Social Business Incubator programme of Santa Clara University (2009), was invited the University of Chicago’s ‘Neubauer Collegium’, and was a Research Fellow at the Max Planck Society, Germany.
